Hey Bimblers,
Just wanted to give everyone an update on my fundraiser for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. First of all let me thank all of you who have kindly contributed to this worthy cause. At this time with about nine weeks to go I am just about at the half way mark of my goal of $3,000. I remain optimistic even tough I know these are hard times to be asking for donations. I am excited about a invitation I received recently to a brunch, presentation and a tour of the camp in late March. As the weeks pass the feeling grows that I am making a difference. I keep in mind a quote by Eleanor Roosevelt “be the change you wish to see in the world”. I know that any funds I can raise will have a immeasurable impact on the care of the children. Whether it be smiles and laughter or strength and healing.
The training is going great. A spirited bimble run this past Saturday banked my first 18 miler of the training season out around the Guilford Green and back on Rt #146. It is always nice to have company on those long runs too. That is if you count company as watching the gap between myself and the lead runners Forrest and Spuds grow larger as the miles tick off. I have also organized a long run for February 28th from the Walsh Intermediate School at 8:00am. I have invited any Ct. Team Hole in the Wall members running Boston to come down and meet each other or have some company if they run alone. If any Bimblers who would like to join us that would be great. Depending on the turnout I might need some help with different paces.
Well, that is all for now and thanks again for the support and well wishes.
Happy Running,
Clark
